The Rome-Floyd County Humane Society is a 501 C-3 non-profit, community based welfare organization dedicated to providing for the welfare of animals in the Rome/Floyd County area. The Humane Society receives no government funding or funds from any national animal welfare organizations; we depend solely on the generosity of individual & corporate donors and supporters to fund our programs and services.
The services the Humane Society offers to the Rome/Floyd community include low cost spay/neuter programs, educational programs, and a pet food pantry for the pets of less fortunate residents of the Rome/Floyd County area. We also, depending on
circumstances, do animal rescue on a limited case-by-case basis, as we do not have enough volunteers to foster rescued animals.
The RFHS also acts as a community liaison with other rescue groups in the Rome/Floyd County area. These groups include Floyd Felines & Friends, Compassionate Paws, Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), & Helping Pawz Inc. In doing so, we are able to assist each other with local rescue efforts & adoption co-ordinations (including out-of-state transport), financial assistance with emergency vet care, & fundraising. In the field of animal rescue & adoption, many hands truly do make light work!
